Well Ray was an unplanned addition to Project Perfect!!

On Friday at the end of a very long day (in hours, not psychologically), Ray was our final session in the studio for the weekend.

Ray came to the studio as a recommendation from Thiago Tavares, who had been in the studio a few weeks previous and wanted to update headshots because he had moved from the corporate world, through a stage where “retirement didn’t suit” him and into coaching.

Midway through the session, Ray was changing his shirt, and for a soft spoken gentleman of his vintage. The last thing I was expecting was a belly button tattoo. I said “cool tattoo” to which he replied. “I got it where my belly button used to be, I don’t have one anymore”.

So it turns out, Ray has a cooler story than, retired, didn’t like it and went into coaching. Ray had Appendiceal cancer, and the appendix burst, sending cancerous slime throughout his abdomen, spreading cancerous tar over everything it touched including the peritoneum (the sack that holds your organs in place).

So standing before me, and now you in this image with a smile on his face, tattoos and no shits given, is a marvel of medical science, advancement and surgical skill.

Honestly one of the most uplifting sessions in the studio of 2021.

Thanks for coming in Ray and for last minute, in the middle of your headshot session becoming part of #ProjectPerfect and telling your story.
